SweatPicks publishes fitness-gear research intended to help readers make informed product decisions. Content must be useful first, commercially responsible second and search-friendly only after those standards are met.
Sourcing
Decision-critical specifications should be verified against first-party manufacturer documentation whenever available. Preferred source order:
- Manufacturer product page
- Manufacturer manual/support documentation
- Recognized technical/standards organization where relevant
- Credible independent specialist publication
- Major retailer data for availability/context
- Documented owner feedback for recurring experience patterns
Retailer descriptions and search snippets must not be treated as authoritative when an original first-party source exists.
Claims
All factual claims must be supportable. We do not publish invented measurements, owner-review counts, test results, certifications, expert consultations, clinical outcomes, durability periods, warranties, connectivity, compatibility or ratings.
Hands-on testing
The words “tested,” “we tested,” “our testing,” “hands-on” or equivalent may only be used when a product was physically evaluated and the page documents the method.
Research-based reviews
When SweatPicks has not physically tested a product, the page describes the work accurately as research, comparison, specification verification or analysis of documented evidence.
Health and safety
Content involving pain, injury, TENS, EMS, recovery, rehabilitation or medical-adjacent claims receives an elevated evidence standard. It must not diagnose conditions or promise treatment outcomes. Where appropriate, readers are directed to manufacturer safety instructions and qualified healthcare professionals.
Affiliate independence
Affiliate relationships must be disclosed clearly. Editorial rankings must not be sold. A higher commission is never a reason for a higher ranking.
Authors and bylines
SweatPicks uses real names and real credentials only. We do not invent expert profiles. Where content is prepared by an editorial team, that process is explained transparently.
AI and automation
AI may assist with organization, research workflows, extraction or drafting, but output is not published automatically. Editorial review is required for intent, factual accuracy, source verification, product relevance, duplication, claims, disclosures and final usefulness.
Corrections
Material factual errors are corrected promptly after verification. When a correction changes the buying recommendation or a major specification, we update the article meaningfully and keep an internal correction note.
Content removal
Pages that are nonsensical, off-topic, duplicated or too weak to justify a standalone URL are merged or removed rather than cosmetically rewritten.
If we get something wrong, contact us through our Contact page and we will review and correct verified errors promptly. See also How We Rank and Affiliate Disclosure.
